Where do we do the private training?

Private lessons begin in Columbia City in South Seattle. It’s important when you’re in the learning phase with a dog for it to be a neutral environment without many distractions. From there once there are some foundational skills build & tools in the toolkit travel and alternative locations might be recommended.

How many sessions will my dog need?

Every dogs development is individual. This highly depends on the commitment of the handler, the goals for the training, and the responsiveness of the dog. It is absolutely my goal to equip clients with the skills and knowledge to be able to problem solve things moving forward so my support is not always required! While I would never guarantee an outcome or timeline on average clients tend to do between 3-8 lessons.

Do you do Board & Trains or boarding?

Generally speaking no, I have other trainers I absolutely recommend for this. On occasion I will assess whether a B&T would be appropriate for your dog and if I am an option for that. In terms of boarding, I will only board dogs that have done private lessons with me. The dog MUST be crate trained. This is a case by case basis - but I also have recommendations for this for clients!

Do you use tools or what are your training methods like?

My approach to each dog is individualized. I do not think training is one size fits all. I will always explain my suggestions and approach when I make recommendations on tools, I offer support in appropriate tool usage, and the crux of all learning starts with positive reinforcement. However, I also respect a clients position on these things and will always have an open-minded approach and dialogue to peoples choices.
